Do you want to protect your car from theft? Read this article to know more about car alarm systems, which would be an effective solution for you.
Car alarm systems are basic ways to keep thieves at bay. The first car alarm system was designed in 1896. Nowadays every car is fitted with advanced electronic sensors, sirens and remote activation system. Though car alarm systems do not always s6top the theft from happening but they do create troubles, which act as alarm for both the owner of the car and the thief.

Parts of a Car Alarm System

A basic Car alarm system consists of the following parts:
  • Sensors
  • Siren
In some of the high end designs there are some more parts like the radio receiver that facilitates the wireless control of a car and the second one is auxiliary battery when the car’s main battery is not functioning, this auxiliary battery can help the alarm system to operate. The third part is the computer control unit that monitors everything that is happening in the surroundings and if there is something unwanted it blows the siren off.

There are various types of sensors associated with the car alarm like the door sensor that is placed in the door. When the hood on the front or any of the doors or a trunk is opened the computer control system activates the alarm. It is general characteristic of the modern cars that the light inside the cars is automatically switched on when the door is opened, these sensors also work in a similar manner, though in case of alarm systems the door sensors are to be activated by the owner or the user of the vehicle.

Car alarm Systems: Types of Sensors

The second type of car alarm system works with the help of shock sensor in which if the car is moved then the siren can be heard. The third type of car alarm system is window sensor wherein the alarm is activated when the windows are broken. Pressure sensor is triggered when the pressure inside the car changes, which can occur as a result of any of the above-mentioned things like if, the windows are broken or the door is opened the air pressure in the vehicle has to change thus sounding the alarm bell. There is also something called Tilt sensor, which triggers the brain of the car alarm system when the car is tilted to a particular angle since there are certain smart thieved who tow the car away.

Use of Car Alarm System

There have been innumerable cases when in spite of the car alarm system being there, the vehicle has been stolen because at times the car alarm system fails to understand what exactly is a car theft. Experts are of the opinion that nowadays thefts occur in spite of the alarm system being there because nobody bothers much about it. People do not pay attention because alarm systems trigger in to a siren even when there is a strong wind or a pet trying to interfere with the vehicle. Moreover thieves are devising newer ways to conquer new technologies that are being used to manufacture car alarm systems.

In modern times manufacturers are avoiding the installation of car alarm system and looking forward to more effective measures like the vehicle tracking systems and car immobilizers.
